The Aftermath

So we drove over to Santa Cruz today to release the car. Man what  a sight, at night you were not able to see how badly the car was toasted. We made sure to take a few photos to post handled our business and came back over the hill. It was a long night and one we will not soon forget.

Our night started with Alex replaced the headlight bracket. We then headed over to Santa Cruz for a bite. On the way back over night we were following Dan in his white Focus ” the one at the last bbq” we were a bit into the drive when all of a sudden flames erupted out from the bottom of his car! We furiously tried to flag him down and seconds later the flames came up through the hood and he slammed on the brakes, pulled to the side and jumped out of the car. He was able to get out safe and that is great news……. now on to the car….. she did not fair so well.. a little back ground on this car that is soo near and dear to all of our hearts at GMS…. Dan bought this car new in 2003 he very soon after showed up on our doorsteps. Dan was one of our first customers as we went from being 100% about racing to more onto customers. Along with Dan we have taken this car through many alterations. Around 2007 the car was sold to us at GMS and we ran the car hard and put it away wet.. after a few years and a few changes one of which was wrapping it a flat white and slamming it to the ground we sold the car back to Dan early this year  as this was its rightful home and owner. What a great ride this car has been on. Since Dan has had the car it has gone through some power changes as well as more refining. The car was at the top of its game as we set off on our drive back from our meal, the ride was great! Then disaster struck!!  We will add more tomorrow …. rip focus
